My Only Source

I’ve learned to look for practices that are simple, satisfying and significant.

David shares the same sentiment, “I say to the Lord, You are the Lord, MY ONLY SOURCE OF WELL BEING.” (Ps 16:2) He readily confessed that his relationship with his LORD was personal, it had priority and it provided prosperity.

Be encouraged by God’s provision. Be overwhelmed by God’s presence.

He gives protection in uncomfortable times – “Protect me, O God, for I have taken shelter in you.” (Ps 16:1)
He gives stability in unstable times – “Lord, you give me stability and prosperity; you make my future secure.” (Ps 16:5)
He gives direction in uncertain times – “I will praise the Lord who guides me; yes, during the night I reflect and learn. (Ps 16:7)
He gives joy during unsafe times – “So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe.” (Ps 16:9). “You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.” (Ps 16:11)

You are His. He never leaves. “You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit.” (Ps 16:10)

Be encouraged. Be overwhelmed. Be thankful.
