Power and Passion

“You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence.” (Psalms 21:6)

Having strong arms and a big heart is a great combination. In Psalm 21, David relies only on God’s power, rests only in God’s passion and rejoices only in God’s presence.

He is the only source for any prosperity. “You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head.” (Psalms 21:3)

He is the only source for any preservation. “He asked You to preserve his life, and You granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever.” (Psalms 21:4)

He is the only source for my protection. David writes, “For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.” (Psalms 21:7)

God’s power is unequal, unbeaten and unyielding. Admitting my weakness promotes His strength.
God’s passion is unearned, unending and unfailing. Affirming my trust provides His stability.

“Rise up, O Lord, in all Your power. With music and singing we celebrate Your mighty acts.” (Psalms 21:13 NLT)

We serve a powerful God . . . be confident in His strength.
We serve a passionate God . . . celebrate His love.
