Helping Others Get To Where They Want To Go
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
—Romans 12:12
Every day we face the choice to conform or to change. Conforming is an indifferent satisfaction with our culture. Changing is an intentional strategy. We are changed and transformed by refreshing and renewing the way we think.
The Apostle Paul presents a three part strategy to shift our thinking. Each requires initiative and is intentional.
Perspective – Choose to experience happiness because of your hope. Our hope is in His presence. Our hope is in His provision. Our hope is in His promises. We have an eternity with Him, but we also have everyday with Him. He never leaves.
Patient – Choose to endure trials because of your transformation. Jesus learned obedience through suffering. (Heb 5:8). Suffering provides us the opportunity to share with Jesus and about Jesus. (1 Pet 4:12). He turns our mess into a message. He turns our trials into a testimony.
Prayer – Choose to exercise prayer because of your peace. Faithful prayer develops focused purpose. Approaching Him with prayer appropriates peace that guards our thoughts and feelings. (Phil 4:6-7)
He will change your life . . . and He will make you a life changer.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Rom 12:2)
