He Will Send

“I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.”
– Psalm 57:2 ESV

Hiding from Saul, David wrote these words from the deepest and darkest part of his cave.  Filled with prayer and praise, the psalmist knew his only hope was God’s presence and his only help was in God’s purpose.  David understood the conviction needed to “cry out to God Most High”.

We all have our own cave of concerns. It’s a place where we fight with our own inadequacies and insecurities just trying to find His plan.  It’s the place of realization that our only solution is in our Soveriegn.  It’s a place of desperation and needed deliverence.  In our crying out we are consecrated.  In our faith, His purpose is fulfilled.  God’s purpose is our priority, it is our pleasure, and it is our passion.

David was surrounded by enemies and seperated from his people . . . he needed God to send an answer.  He writes, “He will send help from heaven to rescue me, disgracing those who hound me . . . My God will send forth his unfailing love and faithfulness.” (Ps 57:3 NLT)

He Sends Help.  God helps His children. The Almighty’s assistance is always available and more than adequate.  Spurgeon writes, “He shall send from heaven. If there be no fit instruments on earth, heaven shall yield up its legions of angels for the succour of the saints.”  The author of Hebrews encourages us to find help from our High Priest, Jesus, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb 4:16 ESV)

He Sends Unfailing Love.  David found unending comfort in God’s unfailing compassion.  As he sat at the mouth of the cave, his imagination captured the limitlessness of God’s love.  The psalmist writes, “For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens . . .” (Psalms 57:10 NLT). Paul reminds us of God’s eternal embrace, “I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” (Rom 8:39 MSG)

He Sends Faithfulness.  David confessed that God’s “faithfulness reaches to the clouds.” (Ps  57:10 NLT)  There is no boundary . . . there is no border . . . there is no barrier that fence in the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.   We may waffle, but He never wavers.  As Paul mentored Timothy, he instructed him in having confidence in God’s character, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” (II Tim 2:13 NKJV)

Chuck Swindoll writes, “From the tiny birds of the air and from the fragile lilies of the field, we learn the same truth . . . God takes care of His own.  At just the right moment, He steps in and proves Himself as our faithful heavenly Father. ”

Cry out to Him from your cave . . . and, He will answer.
